Main plaza of Cucunubá (2,580 m). Cobblestone streets, festive atmosphere and first gentle climb heading north.

Climb to the antennas
Most technical section of the first half. Sustained gradient on rocky trail, entering the páramo ecosystem.

Páramo ridge
Exposed section on the ridge (3,200–3,320 m). Views of Suesca and Tausa. Mind the wind.

Descent through high forest
Pine and eucalyptus. Fast gradient with roots. Don't release the brakes: transition is coming.

Transition zone
10K finish · team relay handover · second loop start for 20K. Full aid station.
